What to expect

How it works, step by step

Here's what to expect when you come to us. We'll talk through individual and communal cremation, take care of your pet, and make a difficult time a little easier.

  1. You call us

    We'll explain individual and communal cremation, answer your questions, and help you choose what feels right. We care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other pets.

  2. We arrange the appointment

    Bring your pet to us in Newport by appointment. Collection from home or vet is available for individual cremation; communal cremation is drop-off only. We'll confirm timing and costs first.

  3. Your pet comes into our care

    Your pet stays in the care of our family-run team at our Newport facility. If you come to us, you can say farewell in our homely, light, and airy goodbye room.

  4. For individual cremation, ashes come home

    We'll let you know when your pet's ashes are ready. A scatter tube is included, or you can choose another memorial option. You can collect the ashes or ask us to return them.

Choosing between individual and communal cremation

Individual cremation

Your pet is cremated on their own, and the ashes returned to you are theirs only.

Communal cremation

Your pet is cremated alongside other pets, and individual ashes are not returned.

If communal cremation feels right for you, you can bring your pet to us in Newport by appointment. It is currently a drop-off service, so we are not able to collect your pet.

We usually arrange communal cremations once a week. Afterwards, the ashes are treated with care and respect. As a quiet act of remembrance, we scatter a small token amount in our bluebell woods. We will post a certificate of cremation to you.

How long does pet cremation take?

For individual cremation, your pet's ashes are usually ready within 48–72 hours. If you choose a memorial item that isn't in stock, completing your order can take longer, and we'll let you know what to expect.

We'll take it at your pace

You don't need to have decided everything before you call. Many people simply want to talk it through first. We'll explain the options, answer your questions, and only arrange what you're comfortable with. If you choose individual cremation, we can also speak to your vet about arranging collection.
